Zeke's Current Condition...
In the accident, Zeke suffered from a fractured skull and a swollen brain, The skull fracture turned out to be a blessing because this allowed room for his brain to swell without causing damage. He also had a fractured cheekbone that is still healing. Although Zeke suffered major lacerations on his face he is still adorable as ever.
Overall Zeke's physical condition has improved miraculously.
Emotionally Zeke's loss is unimaginable. The trauma he suffered in the accident alone has made him fearful of things he once wasn't afraid of. Zeke is living with his grandparents where he is learning to get along without Mom and Dad. He has several sets of grandparents and many friends and family members that give him continuous love and support. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Zeke's Story
Authored by Allison Melton,
Sister of Dylan BarryOnce upon a time there was a little boy named Dylan. He was a special little boy unlike most other boys. He made friends with all of the other little boys and girls.
As he grew he found that he liked to climb trees and go swimming in lakes and rivers. He loved rocks and sticks. He liked to hike up big mountains and he paid special attention to each little thing he saw a long the way.
While Dylan was growing up there was a little girl on the other side of town who was growing up too. She was a special little girl named Melissa. She made friends with all of the other little boys and girls.
As she grew she found that she liked to sit under big trees in the shade and sing songs. She liked to swim in lakes and rivers. She liked flowers and birds. She loved to hike up big mountains and she paid special attention to each little thing she saw a long the way.
One day Dylan and Melissa became friends. They were special friends because God put them together. They liked each other so much that they decided to travel all around the world together and swim in lakes and rivers. Dylan would climb a tree and listen as Melissa would sing songs down below in the shade. They would hike up mountains together where Dylan would show Melissa pretty sticks and rocks that she had never noticed before. Melissa would point out flowers and helped Dylan to hear the birds singing.
One day when the sun was shining near a creek by the mountains with all of the trees and birds around, Dylan and Melissa got married. They told God they would be together forever and this made God happy.
Soon after Dylan and Melissa had their own special little boy named Zeke. Zeke liked to sit by Mommy while she would sing. Melissa taught Zeke about the flowers and the birds. Dylan would take Zeke on a trail up a Mountain where they would pick up sticks and rocks. They were a happy family.
One day on the way to the mountain something very scary happened. They were driving on the road and there was an accident. Many rescue people came to help but the accident was so bad that Dylan and Melissa died. God helped the doctors and Zeke was okay.
He was okay but he was mad. He wanted to go to the mountain and play but his mommy and daddy were taken away from him. Everyone was sad.Today, Dylan and Melissa are in Heaven. In heaven they play in the mountains where there are the biggest most beautiful trees you can imagine. Melissa sings all day long with the perfect birds and Dylan collects perfect rocks and perfect sticks. They can swim in perfect lakes and perfect rivers and pick perfect flowers. They are safe with God.
Every moment of every day they are watching over Zeke. Even though they can’t be with him on earth, they can watch him from heaven and love him even more. They will live in Zekes heart while he grows. They will be with him when he is climbing trees or playing with sticks and rocks. They are with him when he swims in lakes and rivers. They are with him when he hikes up big mountains. They are with him when he sees flowers and birds. They are with him always.
